Bubbles!

In science we have been exploring water and studying the water cycle. Today we looked at what a bubble is and how it is formed.
We used some dishwashing liquid, a little bit of water and pipe cleaners. We had a fantastic time and learnt lots!

A Happy Afternoon!

On Wednesday we had a happy afternoon skipping with 1/2DW, 1H and some special year four helpers. We rotated through different activities and practiced different skipping skills. Here are some great pictures Mrs Downes took. 

Word work

On Wednesday and Thursday we did word work. During word work we experimented with different materials to practice tricky words.

Baby Seth

This week we had Mrs Frances and baby Seth come and visit. 2F were very happy to see Mrs Frances and enjoyed meeting the very cute little Seth.

Christmas in 2F

 Today 2F put up the Christmas tree and had lots of fun decorating it!

Visual Art

In HSIE 2F have been looking at celebrations and how different cultures celebrate different events. Today we looked at Diwali or the Festival of Lights and created some collages of lamps (diyas). 

Library Fun

This week 2F had a library lesson with Mrs Downes. They created some marvellous artworks and got to enjoy some relaxing time reading on the rug. 

Welcome Baby Seth

Hi 2F,
I hope you are enjoying your last few weeks of school before you have Christmas holidays and go off to Year 3.
You would have heard that my baby boy has been born! His name is Seth Levi Frances and he was born on November 14th at 1:57am.
He is very cute and a very good baby and he can't wait to meet you all!! I will do my best to bring him to school sometime during Week 8. Until you get to meet him in real life, here is a picture.

Mrs Frances' Last Day

Thank you so much to my beautiful class and their families for making my entire year so wonderful. I was sad to finish school but I am excited that my baby is arriving very soon.
We had a fantastic day on Wednesday with a very fun class party. We enjoyed playing pass the parcel, doing balloon relays and musical statues, and eating "spiders". Thanks to Zack's mum for making some delicious chocolate cupcakes!
Thank you 2F for being a wonderful class. I can't wait for you to meet my baby.

Our Day Started with a Duck

We were delighted to start our day with a visit from Pablo, Ebony's 4 week old duck. He was very well mannered and seemed to enjoy the attention! We loved his company this morning.

Making Cards

Today for Visual Arts we were joined by 1/2DW. We have started making some greeting cards using paper tearing techniques. It was lots of fun and we made lots of mess (that we cleaned up at the end of the lesson). Who do you think your card will be for 2F?

Skipping

During Term 4, Stage One will be skipping for Wednesday Sport. There are some excellent skippers in our class and I'm looking forward to seeing some of your fantastic skipping skills this term.

Probability

Welcome back to Term 4 everyone! It was wonderful to see everyone today and I hope you enjoyed your holidays.
This week in maths we are learning about probability or chance. Today we had fun playing a game where we had to choose if something was "likely", "unlikely", "certain" or "impossible".
